  1. My uncle, Frank Uricchio, wa hit with shrapnel while in a fox hole on Iwo Jima. He was transported to a ship and died there on March 1, 1944. I was hoping someone would remember him. Thank you

    1. My father remembered his boy hood buddy from Clifton and thought of him often.
Dad passed away three years ago now, he was ninety three, but his comments about WWll and the friends he lost where with him to the end.

I live in Michigan now and for years, whenever I went home to visit the folks, we would always take a ride to Clifton / Paterson and make a point of stopping at the Calgary Cemetery to visit family gravesites. Dad always made a point of stopping at his buddy Frank’s grave and spent time remembering. Dad’s eyes would always tear up as he recalled …those stories.. when he was still able to drive, he , as a member of American Legion Post 347 in Clifton would visit the cemetery and place the American flag at veterans graves, Frank’s was always his first stop….
I’m sure they have reacquainted in heaven…
