Campaign Narrative
This is my great uncle, my grandfather’s brother. My grandfather (Raymond) was fighting through France with the US Army when his brother was killed on Saipan. He named my dad “John” after his fallen brother. My dad is a Vietnam era Marine. I, John Raymond, served in Iraq as a Marine infantryman. That makes 3 John Muscatell’s that are Marine Veterans and it all started with my great uncle John who never made it home. I would love to learn anything I can about him and his service. If anyone can provide any information it would be greatly appreciated. Semper Fidelis.
We just attended a beautiful memorial service for his only daughter , sharynne caifano. She was only five months old when he was killed on saipan, and never met him in this world.
