Biography coming soon.
Colon was my dad’s first cousin. Many years ago I visited his parent’s home in Franklinville, NC. On the wall in their living room was the framed letter sent to Colon’s parents from President Franklin Roosevelt. The President expressed his sympathy for Colon’s death and the sacrifice he had made in the service of his country. It made a great impression on me—one that I’ve never forgotten.
