  1. Corporal Billy G. Glenn, service #513901, is listed on the Company A, 2nd Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion roster.
Note: “There was also a guy by the name of Billy G. Glenn who must have been in the Marine before and then went into the inactive reserves and was called back. After WWII they gave you an option to join the reserves or inactive reserves so you could maybe get out a little earlier. I think he was from Tennessee and in WWII. They told us to listen to him because he had been in before and knew what he was doing. I heard that he slit his wrists, but don’t know if it was true or not, maybe he did it because he wanted to get out.” (Conversation with Bill Mode, original 2nd Recon member)
Note: “I was ordered to testify at Billy Glenn’s Summary Court Marshall when Billy Glenn slit his wrist. Billy had already been in the Marines; he had some problems going on. It was on a weekend and we were on Port and Starboard Liberty, half on- half on, when he slit his wrist in the head. A couple of guys and I helped stop the bleeding. We testified for him, not against him, we lied our asses off to get him a general discharge, said he had slipped. We didn’t want to see the guy get the book thrown at him. He was discharged as a Section 8. (Conversation with David G. Hamblin, original 2nd Recon member on 5 October 2020)
