Before joining battalion

Boot camp at Naval Training Center Sampson, NY. Sent t0 Hospital Corps School in Bainbridge, MD, on 3 December 1943; appointed Hospital Apprentice 1c and transferred to US Naval Hospital, New River on 14 January 1944. Attended Medical Field Service School through 17 July 1944, at which time assigned duty with the 13th Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion at Camp Lejeune, NC.

Transferred from 13th AA Arty Bn on 6 September 1944; to Transient Center, Fleet Marine Force for assignment. To Fourth Marine Division at Camp Maui, 22 October 1944. Assigned to First Battalion, 24th Marines on 23 October 1944.

Campaign Narrative

After leaving battalion

Admitted to Naval Hospital, Pearl Harbor as a patient, July 1945. Transferred to US Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune, on 10 August. Present through 16 November 1945, at which time transferred to Receiving Station, Naval Operating Base Norfolk, VA.

Honorably discharged at an unknown date, likely late 1945 or early 1946.
