Enlisted at Atlanta, GA, on 22 October 1942. Boot camp at Parris Island with Fifth Recruit Battalion / New River with Thirteenth Separate Recruit Battalion. Outposted directly to Baker Company, First Separate Battalion (Reinforced) on 15 December 1942.

Important Events:
February 2, 1944 – wounded in action (gunshot wound, chest, with compound fracture of left humerus); evacuated to USS Doyen
After initial triage aboard USS Doyen, sent to USS Solace for transport to Pearl Harbor and hospitalization.
Arrived at San Francisco on 11 May 1944; transferred to US Naval Hospital Seattle, Washington on 19 May. Under treatment through 17 June 1944, at which time transferred to USNH Memphis, Tennessee for additional treatment and rehabilitation.
Honorably discharged as result of medical survey on 28 October 1944.

O M G I WORKED WITH YOUR FATHER AT WHEELS & BRAKES BACK IN THE 1970’S HE USED TO TAKE US CO-WORKERS UP TO THE CABIN ON THE LAKE ON SOME FRIDAY NIGHTS FOR BEER & CARDS & FISHING, HE WAS A LOT OF FUN TO BE AROUND. SORRY FOR YOU LOSS, MY HE REST IN PEACE.
