PHARMACIST’S MATE THIRD CLASS

for service as set forth in the following
CITATION

For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity as a Corpsman attached to the FIRST Battalion, TWENTY FOURTH Marines, FOURTH Marine Division, during operations against enemy Japanese forces on Saipan, Marianas Islands, from June 15 to July 9, 1944. Undaunted by intense fire, TELLIER went forward of the front lines on numerous occasions to administer aid to the wounded and dying. Volunteering to aid three wounded men lying in front of our lines on June 27, he made his way forward and, although wounded, aided in their evacuation before returning to his battalion. His courage and grave concern for the safety of others were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
