  1. I’m the son of a Marine who served in WWII. He enlisted along with his cousin (and best friend) John J. “Jackie” Miller, who I knew was in the 24th Marines but I’ve just learned was in B 1-24. He was killed on Iwo Jima and my father was hurt by his loss to the day he died. I’ve tried to learn more about Jackie and his service, and this website is an eye opener. I’m going to look around and see what else is available, I’ve always wondered if there exists some unit daily report or the like that covers the events around his death. Please contact me if such information exists. If it makes any difference I am a veteran myself, a retired Master Sergeant from 23 years in the Army (I know, I know, my father was proud but did bust my balls about which service I joined!).
    Thanks
