Non-Combat

On 23 April 1943, transferred to HQ Company, First Battalion, 24th Marines.

At barber school, Camp Pendleton, from 31 May 1943 through 1 July 1943.

On 5 October 1943, transferred to US Naval Hospital San Diego as a patient, diagnosis unknown.

After leaving battalion

Transferred to US Public Health Service Hospital (USPHSH) Fort Worth, Texas, for treatment.

On 4 February 1944, “discharged upon report of medical survey for disability, not of own misconduct – Character Excellent.” Dropped from Marine Corps rolls but retained in hospital for further treatment.
