Service & Campaigns

Before joining battalion

Boot camp at Parris Island with Third Recruit Battalion; outposted to Engineer Company, Training Camp Lejeune. Under instruction through 14 July 1943, at which time transferred to Dog Company, Second Battalion (Pioneers), 20th Marines, Fourth Marine Division at Camp Pendleton.

Participated in the battles of Roi-Namur, Saipan and Tinian, as a Private First Class, Rifleman (MOS 745).

Battalion disbanded September 1944; joined Able Company, First Battalion, 24th Marines at Camp Maui on 20 September 1944.
