Christopher Adamson was inducted into the Marines in late 1944; he trained at MCRD San Diego, and after completing the basic training course was assigned to the 39th Replacement Draft. He became a member of Company B, First Battalion, 24th Marines on April 10, 1945.
Private Adamson qualified as a rifleman and trained for the invasion of Japan, but the war ended before he saw any combat. When his battalion disbanded, Adamson was sent to the 18th Service Battalion, where he served for another six months as a military policeman.
He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class on August 26, 1946.
Adamson died in Los Angeles on March 11, 2000. He is buried in Los Angeles National Cemetery.
