    Parents are George (1896-1965) and Pauline McAdoo (1897-1941). Third born of eight children. Siblings are Olin – 4 years older, Paul – 1 years older, Edwin – 2 years younger, Marian – 4 years younger, Andrea – 8 years younger, Allena – 10 years younger, Pauline – 11 years younger. Corporal McAdoo’s mother died when he was a senior in high school. Worked at Tuttle and Bailey in New Britain prior to the service.

    Died of wounds received in action at Iwo Jima. Also fought on Roi-Namur, Saipan, and Tinian. Buried at sea at latitude 24° -57N, longitude 141° -44 E. Awarded the Purple Heart Medal.
